About

Howdy, delightful viewer. Welcome to Pedal Power Press.

Pedal Power Press is a mobile printing operation centered around a pull-behind bicycle trailer screen printing work station for artistic, educational, and commercial purposes (a photograph is worth a 1000 words, or at least a mouthful like that one, so please take a look at some of the many on this sight!). Greatly inspired by the work of Shepard Fairey and company, punk DIY printers, and politically radical artist-activists, I first experimented with serigraphy (screen printing) at age 13. Discovering the Power of Print, I have been enamored with the medium (and, evidently complex sentences) ever since.

Then, there’s bicycling.

Unlike printmaking, bicycling rarely requires elaboration (what it is, and why it is awesome) to the uninitiated, because there are fortunately so few uninitiated. I would like to further the culture of print and the qualities of freedom, community, democracy, autonomy, accomplishment, communication, veneration, and hard work associated with it! The bicycle and the printing press (and the countless genres of printmaking) are undoubtedly two of the most profound and equalizing inventions forged of human hands. Both are improved upon and progressed everyday by every and any kind of person; whether novice or expert we can all be practitioners of Cycle or Print! What better way to do either…than together? Chain grease. Ink knife. Make Work!
